Focus group analysis

Focus Group:

We formed a focus group of five individuals to further find information regarding the relevance and interest surrounding are chosen area of our trailer. We asked a range of questions to gather a deeper set of answers than our survey monkey questionnaire, and to know what area of the dark web to base it upon.

Below are the questions in which we asked along with some responses that were given(In bold):
  1. Where would you say the most common location for an urban drama film is and why?
    The streets and council estates, parks- common people, drama and everyday life and people.       
  2. What characteristics would you expect the main character of an urban drama film to portray? 
    Aggravated, rebellious, violent, lower class and income.
  3. Name some common props you would expect in an urban drama. 
    Drugs, guns, cocaine, heroine, pills, hard drugs, recitation drugs, knifes.
  4. What gangs have you herd about and for what reasons?      
    None
  5. What issues would you say are current to today's society in youth culture?
    Oppression, expectation education and work, underage drinking, teenage pregnancy, drugs, violence.
  6. After viewing an urban drama do you have a different outlook on societal views and why?  
    Yes get an insight to a life in which we wouldn't be exposed to. Brought up in middle/upper class environment then see a lower class appreciate what you have and struggles of other people.
Evaluation
In conclusion from data we have received from the focus group, we can use this information in order to strengthen our plans and improve them by taking on the answers that the majority of people voted for. These answers given will help us with our story-line, location, props, actors and mise-en-scene.
