Focus group Anaylsis

As a group we arranged that 5 other students at our school would attend a focus group where we would ask them questions about are chosen topic in media. As we were doing an urban drama film we asked them questions based on our ideas about a film relating to gangs.

The questions we asked and responses:

Where would you say the most common location is set for an urban drama film and     why?  The streets and council estates, parks where common people live, because of the drama of everyday life.
What characteristics would you expect the main character of an urban drama film to portray? Rebellious, violent, lower class and income.
Name some common props you would expect in an urban drama? Drugs, guns, cocaine, heroine, pills, hard drugs, recitation drugs, knives and other weapons.
What gangs have you herd about for what reasons? None.
What issues would you say are current to todays society in youth culture?  Oppression, expectation education and work, underage drinking, teenage pregnancy, drugs, violence. After viewing an urban drama do you have a different outlook on societal views and why?  Yes get an insight to a life necessarily wouldn't be exposed to. As these people are from an upper class environment the film will expose them to things they will not have seen in there lives and show us how lucky we are.
